A program was organized at Shri Ram College of Law, Muzaffarnagar, jointly with Shri Ram College of Law and the Police Administration, Muzaffarnagar. Mrs. Indu Siddharth, Superintendent of Police, Crime, Muzaffarnagar, was the chief guest. Dr. Ravindra Pratap Singh, Principal of Chaudhary Harchand Singh College of Law, was present as the special guest.
The program was inaugurated by the guests lighting a lamp.On this occasion, Anchal Agarwal, a spokesperson for Shri Ram College of Law and program coordinator, said that old laws were for the convenience of the British, not for providing justice to citizens. But now in 5G India, crime and technology are changing everything, and changes in justice are necessary.Law students participated in the program by sharing their views through speeches, debates, and question-answer sessions. Shreya Rajput, a second-year LLB student, presented her views, saying that law is not limited to the walls of the court; it is with us every step of the way.Additionally, Khushi Gehlot, a second-year BA LLB student, stated that while crime used to be a dispute between the criminal and the state, the victim has now been made an active part of the justice system.Furthermore, BA LLB students Hina Aamir, Ariba Aamir, Akshita Varnwal, Akbar Rehan, Ayan Tyagi, Vansh Vardhan, Sania Shamsher, Aman Naeem, and BCom LLB student Hureen Khan delivered well-reasoned presentations and effectively presented their views for and against the topic in the debate competition.Earlier, college lecturers Vishvendra Panwar and Ashish Kumar presented their views and discussed in detail the usefulness of the new laws.Principal of Shri Ram College of Law, Dr. Poonam Sharma, said that previously, ordinary citizens were afraid of the law, but now the new law states that the law is for the public.Chief Guest Indu Siddhartha stated that the current laws have been enacted with specific individuals in mind. Crimes that were not addressed in the old laws have been given due consideration, as the old laws were enacted by the British to facilitate their rule.The chief guest stated that the new law prioritizes speedy justice, in addition to the protection and safety of women and children. He explained that the use of digital technology has now become an essential part of the law. FIRs can be filed online from any location. He also discussed in detail the public welfare work being carried out by the police administration and the usefulness and features of the helpline number.Sanjeev Kumar, Mrs. Sonia Gaur, Aanchal Agarwal, Ritu Dhiman, Aakshi Kashyap, Mini Singhal, Vishvendra Panwar, Ashish Kumar, Dr. Nahid Anjum, Vinay Tiwari, and Trilokchand contributed to the success of the program.Principal of Shri Ram College of Law, Dr. Poonam Sharma, thanked everyone.
