National Sports Day celebrated with pomp and show in Shri Ram College

National Sports Day was celebrated with pomp and show in Shri Ram College. On this occasion, tribute was paid to Hockey Magician Major Dhyanchand and Chess and Carrom (Women and Men Category) competitions were organized in the college, in which students participated with great enthusiasm. The competition was inaugurated by Chief Guest Dr. Ashok Kumar, Director Shri Ram College, Muzaffarnagar, Dr. Prerna Mittal, Principal Shri Ram College, Dr. Saurabh Mittal, Vice-Principal Shri Ram College, Dr. Vineet Kumar Dean Academics Shri Ram College etc.

On this occasion, BBA student Lavisha stood first in Chess (Women Category) competition, Fine Arts Department student Meenakshi stood second and MBA student Khushi stood third. In the Chess (Men Category) competition, Mayank Dev of Physical Education Department stood first and Bilal stood second.

On this occasion, in the Carrom (Men's Category) competition, Mohd. Akdas of Bioscience course stood first, Harsh Saini second and Abdul Khaliq third. In the Carrom (Women's Category) competition, Riya of MBA course stood first, Meenakshi of Fine Arts second and Zarin of MBA third.

On this occasion, Dr. Ashok Kumar, Director of Shri Ram College, threw light on the life of Hockey Magician Major Dhyanchand and gave information related to his personality to the students and asked them to take inspiration from his life. He told that Major Dhyanchand played an important role in making hockey a national sport. He said that students should play with confidence like Major Dhyanchand and stay focused on their goal.

On this occasion, Dr. Prerna Mittal, Principal, Shri Ram College, told that while sports make a person physically healthy, sports also make a person disciplined. He said that players should take advantage of today's scientific sports facilities and methods. Today, youth are getting employment opportunities through sports. Therefore, today's young generation should take sports seriously and in a disciplined manner.

On this occasion, Bioscience Department spokesperson Vikas Tyagi, Saba Rana, MBS Department spokesperson Nivedita, and Physical Education Department speakers Bhupendra Kumar, Dr. Abdul Aziz Khan, Sandeep Deshwal, Tarun, Prashant, Vishwadeep Kaushik etc. were present.
