Mini Hands On (A Prototype Making Competition)

Shri Ram College of Engineering, a unit of Shri Ram Group of Colleges, Muzaffarnagar, organised 'Mini Hands On (A Prototype Making Competition)' today under the Pre-Expanded Technical Series by 'IIC-SRGC'. The programme was inaugurated by the Director of the institute, Dr. S.N. Chauhan, by lighting the lamp.

Prototype means an initial model of a technology, software or hardware, which is made by the participants in a hackathon in a limited time so that a new idea or solution can be tested and demonstrated. Students participating in a hackathon not only focus on creating products and ideas, but also connect with sponsors. In this competition, a solution to a technical challenge or problem is often presented. The solutions given in the hackathon are evaluated by experts on the basis of prescribed parameters.

Prototypes play an important role in the hackathon competition. They are a valuable tool for expressing, testing and improving ideas. The objective of this technical event is to promote startup and problem solving skills among engineering college students. 15 teams of students from the Engineering Department of Shri Ram Group of Colleges, Muzaffarnagar participated in this competition. The first prize in the competition was bagged by Khushi and Aditi, second prize by Khushi Arya, Kanak and Sunny and third prize by Tushar, Rishabh and Paras.

On this occasion, the Director of the institute, Dr. SN Chauhan, while encouraging the students, motivated them to organize such competitions in future. He also said that the Hackathon would prove to be a worthy platform for our students to showcase their talent and contribute to the innovation eco-system in the country.

On this occasion, Shri Ram Group of Colleges, Muzaffarnagar IIC-SRGC And Head of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Engr. Kanupriya, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Dr. Ashish Chauhan, Head of the Department of Civil Engineering, Firoz Ali, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Pawan Kumar and the lecturers wished the students a successful future.
