A moot court (mock trial) was organized in Shri Ram College of Law, Muzaffarnagar with the objective of giving information about the legal process to the law students. The objective of organizing this moot court was to provide practical knowledge to the law students. In this program, Hon'ble Arun Tyagi Ji, Judicial Member NGT and former Judge Punjab Haryana High Court and as special guest Dr. Afroz Ahmed, Expert Member NGT and Prof. Dr. Manisha Saini Dean Faculty of Law, Maa Shakumbhari University, Saharanpur and Dr. S.C. Kulshreshtha Chairman Shri Ram Group of Colleges were present. Apart from this, dignitaries from judicial and administrative fields were present, Hon'ble Arun Tyagi Ji participated in this mock trial as Judicial Member NGT Judge. First of all, the program was started by lighting the lamp by the guests. The guests were welcomed by presenting a bouquet of flowers.
On this occasion, the chief guest Arun Tyagi ji said in his address that judiciary is the strong pillar of our democracy. We give shape to the new energy coming through such events. Special guest Dr. Afroz Ahmed said that today's platform is an important step in the direction of preparing future lawyers, judges and social workers. In this court, a case related to IPC section 302, 201 (murder-concealing evidence) was staged. Law students presented their role as witnesses, lawyers and parties in this moot court. After Abhinandan Shah, a young woman is murdered. Her male friend is accused of the murder. Advocates Sania, Hurain, Aman Naeem, Aayan from the prosecution side and advocates Shreya, Sana, and Hridya from the defence side presented their respective sides. Apart from this, Vikul, Muskan, Aaruju, Vansh, Akbar, Saniya, Rachit, Tanu, Umra, Yasmin, Sameer, Vidhi, Rihaan, Sachin, Akash, Nikhil presented their respective sides as witnesses.
The decision was given by Hon'ble Arun Tyagi Ji, Judicial Member, NGT that this court orders to take the culprit in judicial custody, and sentences him to life imprisonment under Section 302, 201 of IPC for the murder of the girl.
In this program, all the guests were honored by presenting them with mementos and waving shawls. After this, the heads of today's program, Sonia Gaur and Rammanu Pratap Singh were also presented with mementos. After this, all the students who participated in the program were also honored. It is worth mentioning that in Shri Ram College of Law, seminars, moot courts, court visits etc. are organized from time to time to give practical education to the students along with studies. So that the students get benefited, most of the students of B.A.L.L.B., L.L.B. and B.Com.L.L.B. participated in this event with great enthusiasm and showed enthusiasm.
