Industrial Visit for Business Management Students

The students of Business Management Department of Shri Ram College were taken on an industrial visit which brought a lot of joy and enthusiasm among the students. During the visit to Gold Plus Glass Industry Roorkee, the students learnt how they have achieved the distinction of becoming the second largest glass industry in India since starting their journey in 1995 and how they hold 30% of the glass manufacturing in India today and also learnt how glass is made.

It was told that Gold Plus Company has 22 types of value added glass and 11 types of processed glass products including clear glass of varying thickness between 2mm and 12mm and the students learnt how the glass products made in Gold Plus Company cater to a range of end use industries including construction automotive and industrial sectors with a wide range of applications such as exterior and interior spaces of residential and commercial buildings, furniture, infrastructure purposes, windshields, sun vents and white goods.

During the visit to various departments, we learnt how the Human Resources Department selects new people and the selection process. After that, we also learnt about the warehouse process, how old glass is remanufactured and how waste material is stored.

Finally, Plant Head Uttam Agarwal told that we do not compromise on quality and expect satisfactory feedback from the customer and customer satisfaction is of utmost importance to us. After this, the Marketing Department told how we have reached people with our satisfactory work and products. Then the Finance Department told how we manage finances for our company.

During this visit, Dr. S.C. Kulshreshtha, Chairman of Shri Ram Group, said that students develop in all aspects through such experimental methods. He congratulated all the teachers and students for organizing such events and motivated them to organize industrial visits in the future as well.

On this occasion, Dean of Management Section Dr. Saurabh Mittal also congratulated the teachers and students and said that the actual demonstration of bookish knowledge infuses a new energy in the students and industrial visit is a great plan for the Department of Business Management.

During this, the Head of the Department Vivek Kumar Tyagi guided the children and told that industrial visit plays an important role for the students of the Department of Business Management and also assured that such visit will continue in future.

Department spokesperson Himanshu Verma, Dr. Atul Verma, Nishu Verma, Poonam Sharma, Shivani Verma, Sagar Shukla, Naveen Kumar, Kapil Kumar, Swati Tayal, Zeba Tahir, Mamta Mittal, Monica, Tannu Tyagi, Harsh Kumar helped in making the program successful.
