Guest lecture organized on the occasion of World Health Day

A special guest lecture was organized at Shri Ram College of Pharmacy on the occasion of World Health Day on the theme "Healthy Beginning, Hopeful Future". On this occasion, the chief guest was Dr. Sushma Sharma, Gynecologist and special guest was Dr. Vimal Bharti.

The program started traditionally with lighting of lamps, students, teachers and staff participated enthusiastically in this event. The objective of the program was to increase health awareness among the youth and to take steps towards a healthy society.

On this occasion, the chief guest Dr. Sushma Sharma ji, Gynecologist, while addressing the students, threw light on the origin of World Health Day and said that this day is celebrated every year on 7 April, which was started by the World Health Organization (WHO) in the year 1950. Its objective is to spread awareness about health related issues at the global level and inspire every person to live a healthy life. He said that in the present times, health has become a big challenge due to changing lifestyle and increasing mental pressure. In such a situation, this day reminds us that health is not just the absence of disease, but it is a state of complete health physically, mentally and socially.

On this occasion, Dr. Vimal Bharti gave the message to the students to adopt a balanced diet, regular exercise and positive thinking in their lives. He also said that the role of youth is most important in building a healthy society, and if they give priority to their health from today, then not only will they remain healthy themselves but will also make people around them aware.

On this occasion, health related topics were presented in an interesting and informative manner. These presentations mainly included topics like healthy lifestyle, importance of balanced diet, mental health awareness, issues related to women's health, importance of immunity in present times, and cleanliness and hygiene. In each presentation, the students not only gave factual information, but also presented the topics in a lively manner through data, pictures and videos.

During this, the research capability, presentation skills and team work of the students were also appreciated. Chief guest Dr. Sushma Sharma ji praised these presentations and said that if today's young generation is so aware of health, then surely the future will move towards a healthy and prosperous society. Anurag and Vanshika got first place in power point presentation, Bhavna and Suhail got second place, along with this Yusuf and Hussain Farooqui got third place, and students like Radhika Singhal, Fanoos, Nazia, Ansh Sharma, Sanskriti, Akash Verma, Khushi etc. made one better than the other power point presentation. On this occasion, Director of Shriram College of Pharmacy, Dr. Girendra Kumar Gautam while addressing the students said that such programs not only make us aware of our health, but also teach us how we can take care of our body and mind and how we can live a healthy, balanced and active life. It was also said that in today's world, due to rapidly increasing pollution, indiscriminate deforestation and environmental imbalance, mankind is struggling with many new diseases and infections. These problems have a direct impact on our physical and mental health.

Along with this, Dr. Girendra Kumar also mentioned that due to the current lack of time and busy lifestyle, people are becoming careless about their health. Due to lack of time, improper diet, and absence of regular exercise, people are falling prey to serious diseases at an early age.

He motivated the students and said that we should give priority to health in our daily life and keep ourselves healthy by adopting a balanced diet, regular exercise, meditation and adequate sleep.

Arshad and other teachers played an important role in making this program successful.
