In a grand program organized in the auditorium of Shri Ram College today, Vice Chancellor of Maa Shakumbhari University, Saharanpur, Prof. Vimla Wai announced the status of autonomous college to Shri Ram College and presented a certificate. On behalf of Shri Ram College, Secretary of the Management Committee Sankalp Kulshreshtha, President of Shri Ram Group of Colleges, Integrated Campus, Mrs. Mukta Kulshreshtha and Principal of Shri Ram College, Dr. Prerna Mittal received this certificate.
In compliance with the instructions of the University Grants Commission, after approval from the Executive Council of Maa Shakumbhari University, Saharanpur, it was formally announced today in the auditorium of Shri Ram College by Honorable Vice Chancellor Prof. Vimla Wai. While appreciating the tireless efforts being made by Dr. SC Kulshreshtha, Founder Chairman of Shri Ram Group of Colleges, in the field of quality higher education, the Honorable Vice Chancellor declared Shri Ram College to be the first autonomous college among the universities of Western UP.Shri Ram College getting the status of an autonomous institution is a proud achievement. To commemorate this, a grand ceremony was organized in the auditorium of Shri Ram College today in which Prof. Vimala Y, Vice Chancellor of Maa Shakumbhari University, Saharanpur was present as the chief guest. The program was presided over by Dr. SC Kulshreshtha, Founder Chairman, Shri Ram Group of Colleges. As special guests, Sankalp Kulshreshtha, Secretary, Shriram Group of Colleges, Smt. Mukta Kulshreshtha, President, Shriram Group of Colleges-Integrated Campus, Rakesh Bindal, CMD Bindal Paper Mill, Rajesh Jain, President/CMD, Silverton Paper Mill Limited, Subhash Chaudhary, Chairman Peasant Welfare Society Goa, Amit Garg, famous industrialist, Ashok Baliyan, President Peasant Welfare Association, Kushpuri, CMD Puri Industries, Dr. Purushottam Gautam, Regional Minister BJP, TS Rawat, President, Shriram College of Law, Devendra Chaudhary, Treasurer, Shriram Charitable Trust, Dr. Garima Jain, Principal DAV College, Dr. Seema Jain, Principal, Jain Kanya (PG) College, Muzaffarnagar, Dr. Anju Walia, Director, IIMT, Saharanpur and other dignitaries were present. The ceremony was started by lighting the lamp jointly by the Chief Guest, Vice Chancellor, Maa Shakumbhari University, Saharanpur, Prof. Vimla Vai, Chairman of Shriram Group of Colleges, Dr. SC Kulshreshtha and other guests. On this occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Vimla Vai said that the status of being an autonomous college given to Shriram College, Muzaffarnagar, shows the excellence of the quality education system of this college. Expressing hope, he said that just as Shriram College, becoming an identity of higher education, got certified by NAAC and was included in the top 25 colleges in the whole of India, in the same way, now by becoming an autonomous college, it will provide further heights to the standards of higher education and will play an important role in shaping the future of the students by teaching them employment oriented courses as per the current industrial demand and skill development through practical education. There are many autonomous colleges in South India but this achievement was lacking in Western Uttar Pradesh which was resolved after the declaration of Shri Ram College as an autonomous college. He expressed the expectation that Shri Ram College will successfully fulfill the responsibility of this achievement of being autonomous by following all the rules. On this occasion, he said that Shri Ram College is affiliated to Maa Shakumbhari University, hence with the progress and fame of the college, it is natural for the university to progress and become famous.On this occasion, Dr. SC Kulshreshtha, Founder Chairman of Shri Ram Group of Colleges, said that all the teachers and non-teaching staff of the college have given their best contribution in this achievement of Shri Ram College. This achievement is not of any one person but of the entire Shri Ram family. Dr. Kulshreshtha said that it is a very good thing that the college has received autonomous status but now our responsibilities have increased even more in the field of higher education. He expressed hope that every member associated with Shri Ram College will live up to his responsibilities and will try to improve the future of the students by providing them better education and other facilities, so that the students of Shri Ram College, wherever they go, serve the society and the country and bring glory to the college. On this occasion, Dr. Vineet Kumar Sharma, Dean of the "Internal Quality Assurance Cell" of Shri Ram College, while giving information on this achievement, said that as an autonomous college, Shri Ram College will now be free to take admission in all the courses as per the rules of the University Grants Commission at the college level and it will be possible for the college itself to edit the teaching material of the courses in the current perspective and the students can be evaluated on time by conducting examinations at the college level itself, so that the academic session will run regularly. The college will implement the rules passed in the Academic Council of the college.
